Himmotthan has promoted more than 5300 SHGs in 11 disricts of Uttrakhand, 1 district of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh Union Territory. Himmotthan is still in process of onboarding the left-out households into new groups. Himmotthan has also signed a Letter of Understanding (LoU) with the State Project Management Unit (SPMU), department of Rural Development, GoUK to provide technical inputs in UKSRLM. This has enabled Himmotthan to mainstream the learning of microfinance at the state level for positive impact on more number of people.

Women Cooperatives represent larger picture of SHGs and Village Organizations (VOs) through amalgamation at cluster level. Himmotthan with the help of its partner organizations has formed 47 Women Cooperatives or Federations. These federations are registered under the Self Reliant Cooperative Act 2003 and are also called Self Reliant Cooperatives. Two members from each VO selected on a rotation basis for representation at the cluster federation and accordingly form the Executive Committee of the Cooperatives. These women Cooperatives act as a representative of SHGs and VOs and are responsible for promoting microfinance based livelihood activities.

47 Women Cooperatives supported by Himmotthan in Uttarakhand are dealing in a) Dairy, b) Common Facility Centres, and c) Agriculture Produces based enterprise in majority clusters. However, some of the SRCs have entered in the area specific businesses e.g. Handicrafts (wool based products and Hawan Kit), tourism, dairy and agriculture-based value-added products as well.
